EastPacks commitment and focus to their LEAN journey is producing solid results, improved productivity, quality and savings gains that are enabling EastPack to have a positive impact on their wider industry.   Earlier this week EastPack announced they will assist kiwifruit growers facing reduced returns by reducing its 2011 packing charges by 20 cents per tray for 2012 and intends paying its growers 20 cents per tray rebate in June 2012.

EastPack, the second biggest kiwifruit post harvest operator in New Zealand and the leading supplier of Gold kiwifruit, is working closely with its growers and industry bodies to reduce the impact of Psa disease.

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), was engaged by the Ministry of Economic Development, in conjunction with The Treasury, the Department of Labour, and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise to assess 152 medium and large-sized New Zealand manufacturing firms in 2009.
