Thursday, 29 September 2011 15:07

EastPacks commitment and focus to their LEAN journey is producing solid results, improved productivity, quality and savings gains that are enabling EastPack to have a positive impact on their wider industry.   Earlier this week EastPack announced they will assist kiwifruit growers facing reduced returns by reducing its 2011 packing charges by 20 cents per tray for 2012 and intends paying its growers 20 cents per tray rebate in June 2012.

“The move has been made possible through efficiency gains made by EastPack in its packing and coolstorage operating through its ‘Growing Excellence’ LEAN manufacturing and plant improvements. As a grower owned company we are following our tradition of helping our growers during difficult times and passing back some of the gains made by the improved performance,” Mr Sharp, EastPack Chairman said.

EastPack’s performance has enabled it to consistently return to its growers some of the highest Orchard Gate Returns (OGR) in the industry.

”Our strong focus on ‘World Class from Orchard to Market’ is not a catch phrase, it is strongly pursued, with all aspects of our business actively re-examining to improve the outcomes for our growers’ fruit.   Improving efficiency, productivity with quality outcomes for our growers will continue to define EastPack.”

INTENT Group are proud to be associated closely with EastPack having partnered with them on their world class lean journey during the last few years.  Well done EastPack!
