| CASE STUDY - Post Operative Orthopaedic Care Clinic for Counties Manukau District Healthboard |
|
The Counties Manukau District Health Board's Middlemore Super Clinic in Manukau incorporated a Post Operative Orthopaedic Care clinic. This clinic dealt with patients check up visits after their initial procedure. Unfortunately patient visit time was too long in an infastructre that had been specifically designed for quick (pit stop) processing, to the exten that the waitin room was even designed to be very small. Previous initiatives had failed to improve the situation. An operational and process review identified a number of initiatives around scheduling, behavioural management, and sequencing that provided improved results immediately.
