Intent helped Dimond to attain a clear understanding of its freight overheads, enhance its freight recovery process, and improve management processes for nationwide distribution, following a review of its freight operations. Process mapping and solution exploration activities were applied to develop capability and help the team identify improvement opportunities.


Intent Group’s significant supply chain knowledge and expertise helped Dimond to implement improvements and achieve some significant business results:

  • A review of supplier contracts and relationships recognised potential savings of $411,000

  • Identification of a more suitable distribution model which was better suited to the nature of the company’s ‘make to order’ products and time-sensitive requests by customers

  • A reduction of managerial and administrative requirements

  • A decrease in the total number of carriers used across the distribution network

  • Provision of basic supply and freight training across the distribution network to up skill all team members;

  • Development of business processes and procedures to better support distribution and supply chain management along with decision making
