A great day was had by all at the 2022 Drive 4 Life charity golf tournament at Waitemata Golf Club, where, despite the wet start and our below par performance, the weather and course conditions came together to make for an enjoyable afternoon.
The event was hugely successful, with sponsorship and prizes raising more than $40,000, after all expenses.
Funds raised will go to the Well Foundation to upgrade the sensory modulation facilities for the North Shore Adult Community Mental Health Service at Waimarire and North Shore Hospital Emergency Department. The Rotary Club of East Coast Bays will additionally support further causes in the local community throughout 2022.
It's important to note, that nearly half of all New Zealanders will live with mental illness and/or addiction at some point during their lifetime. 13,811 people accessed Adult Mental Health Services in the Waitematā region in 2020, an increase of 59% since 2010, a number that is expected to continue to grow.
